Hola Señor is the first Mexican coffee in the Samurai Shoelace story – and like all the best stories, it arrived completely unexpectedly. Grown around the historic coffee town of Huatusco in Veracruz, it is low in acidity, naturally sweet and carries a surprising hint of smokiness that nods to the flavours of Mexican cuisine. Pull it as an intense espresso or let it meet milk – either way, it’s a cup with a story to tell. Like every coffee in our range, Hola Señor is a genuine specialty coffee – single-origin, traceable and roasted for flavour, then sealed into a Nespresso® compatible capsule.

A story in every cup

Part of the Samurai Shoelace Curiosity Series, Hola Señor was born in a dusty little bar somewhere between Saltillo and Torreón, where a mariachi in a pink dress asked one simple question: “¿Le interesa el café mexicano?” The answer was “Sí” – and the fiesta that followed is exactly the kind of surprise waiting in this cup.

Sweet, perfumed and gently smoky

Hola Señor is less acidic than many specialty coffees, leaning instead into sweet, aromatic and perfumed notes. Then comes the twist: a soft, surprising smokiness that makes it unlike anything else in our range.

Made for espresso and milk

As a black espresso it’s sweet and fragrant, with no sharp acidity at all. With milk it really comes into its own – ideal for a cortado and lovely as a latte, where it stays sweet and pleasant even with plenty of milk.

A softer long-coffee trick

Fancy something different? Brew a short espresso, take the capsule out, then run hot water from the machine into the same cup. You’ll get a softer, almost tea-like long coffee with the same sweet flavour.

Nothing but coffee

Each capsule contains only freshly ground, roasted coffee – nothing else. That makes Hola Señor naturally gluten-free, lactose-free, sugar-free and additive-free.
